Proza gal ir nėra pačios sodriausios stilistikos, tačiau pati pasakojimo galia, įtampos pojūtis ir atmosferos kūrimas yra aukščiausio lygio. Knygoje gausu žiaurių, detalių kovos scenų, nuoširdžiai kuriamų veikėjų emocijų ir mitologinių būtybių – nuo dievų, drakonų iki kraujo ištroškusių monstrų. Pasaulis, kuriame žmonės, klanai ir kariai kovoja ne tik tarpusavyje, bet ir su prabudusiais senoviniais dievais, alsuoja pavojumi ir paslaptimis.
